For many Gilroyans, nothing means summer has arrived more than the sound of live music coming from downtown Gilroy. Every year, starting in mid June, Theater Angels Art League brings local bands to 5th and Monterey Streets for free music and dancing from 7pm to 9pm. The music varies weekly from classic rock to bluegrass to blues, sometimes a little karaoke and often a good dose of country. With restaurants on either side and a coffee shop at the end of the street, locals can plan on an entire evening outdoors enjoying our gorgeous summer evenings. It's a "bring-your-own" event which means bring your own chairs, blankets if needed and even your own picnic dinners. This is a non-alcoholic family affair with pets allowed on leashes.

As well as providing a wonderful evening of fun for our local families, 5th Street Live is a place for new bands to get some exposure. We typically bring in tried and true local favorites year after year, but are also looking for new talents. Bands interested in participating in the next years' series should submit a demo of their music and a sample list of songs to:
Theater Angels Art League,
7691 Suite C, Gilroy, CA 95020.
Demo CDs and photos will not be returned unless you include a return SASE.
All submissions must be received by March 1. Selected bands will be notified by March 15. 5th Street Live is literally right on the street, there is no stage and we do not provide a sound system. Please let us know of any dates you would definitely not be available when you apply.

5th Street Live Music does have costs that add up quickly, so we are always looking for sponsors. If you or your company would like to be a sponsor for the season, or for even one week, please let us know. Season sponsors who commit by May 1 will have their name or logo included in all our promotions throughout the summer. Weekly sponsors will be included in announcements at the event and will be permitted to display promotional materials at the event on the night they are helping to sponsor.
Season Sponsorship: $500
Single Week Sponsorship: $100 (we will have mulitple weekly sponsors)
Exclusive Sponsorship for one specific week (with season sponsors): $250
Raffle Donations:
One of the ways we are able to pay for 5th Street Live is thru our weekly raffle. Every Friday night we raffle off donated prizes during the break in the music. This requires lots of time getting out there to collect enough prizes for the entire summer series. If you would like to donate a raffle prize, and we would love you for it, please send us an email and we will come by and get it asap.
